PLDT Fibr drop na nakakabastos talaga sa QC area
nakaka-frustrate super yung internet ko last week-ONT light blinking red every 30 mins, speed test sa speedtest.net umaabot lang 5mbps download kahit 200mbps plan ko sa Fairview. Nagwo-work from home ako, Zoom calls ko laging laging freezing, Netflix buffer forever. grabe, parang back to 56k modem days.
una, sinunod ko yung usual advice from Reddit PH at FB groups like “PLDT Users PH”: power cycle modem-router 5 mins unplug, check LAN cable if loose, factory reset via 192.168.1.1. wala, same issue. tinawagan ko PLDT hotline 171 sa 8pm, nag-isa silang “tech check” remotely-sabi nila “no outage, sir, try restart ulit.” sus, 3 days na ganun!
pamilya ko rin nag-suggest: baka virus, i-scan daw sa antivirus. friends sa barangay: “benta ka na ng modem, baka sira na.” even tried new Cat6 cable from Divisoria, still nada.
finally, nag-experiment ako ng hapon-noticed yung modem super init, fan nya walang tunog. inilagay ko sa sala malapit sa bintana with fan blowing direct sa vents, then i-unplug 1 ORAS full (not 5 mins lang). boom, stable na! ONT green solid, speedtest 180mbps consistent. turns out yung built-in heat sink overwhelmed sa humid QC weather + dust buildup inside.
tips ko sa inyo kapag ganito:
- wag puro restart, full 1hr power off para mag-reset yung firmware heat protection nila (secret from PLDT tech forum).
- clean vents with compressed air can from PC shops (50pesos lang).
- lagay sa airy spot, wag sa cabinet or near router na may microwave nearby (interference!).
works perfectly for me now, no drops sa 5 days. if kayo same, try mo muna bago magbayad ng tech visit na 1500pesos. PLDT peeps, fix niyo na yang modems nyo! 😤
