Housing outside Metro Manila costs way more than the savings I brought back as an OFW.
Checked listings in Cavite and Batangas first through the usual Facebook groups and a couple of local agents. Most one-bedroom spots still wanted 12-15k a month plus deposits that eat half a month’s pay upfront. Switched to looking at smaller towns further out like San Pablo or even Lipa side, but the commute adds up fast and the places that fit a budget are either tiny or need heavy fixing.
Tried one drive last weekend to see a few in person.
